The USI Hard Hat emblem is a combination of Universal Steel’s past and present.
Founder Bill Bourne had a shiny gold hard hat he wore to jobsites. He was six feet six inches tall and his height along with his shiny gold hard hat made him very visible. The white and gold USI on the front of the hard hat was the early emblem of Universal Steel. The style on the hard hat in the emblem reflects the current style worn by the employee’s today. The gold color and hard hat style make for a meaningful symbol for Universal Steel that will represent the company well into the future.
